Sharon O’Neil is a Licensed Massage Therapist and resident of South Portland, Maine. She is a 2013 graduate of the Therapeutic Massage program at Spa Tech Institute, where she specialized in deep tissue work. She learned to practice many modules of bodywork throughout the course of her education; some of her favorites include myofascial, neuromuscular, and trigger point. She loves studying anatomy and new massage techniques, as well as practicing mindfulness and yoga. Sharon believes that using deeply intuitive touch in combination with a solid understanding of the structures of the human body can have profound benefits for her clients.
She puts a strong emphasis on helping clients accept stress as natural part of life, and on discovering how physical and mental stress impact them specifically, working with it rather than against it. Sharon takes interest in helping clients understand where they might be holding stress in the body, bringing awareness to how that feels, and working with the individual to develop session plans that address each person’s unique needs and goals. She enjoys witnessing positive change over the course of working with clients, and finds it deeply satisfying when a client experiences less pain, more connection to themselves/ between mind and body, and better range of motion.
