
Arcana School of Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered 200 hour and 300 hour yoga school. We also offer continuing education courses. We pride ourselves in hosting 6+ yoga teacher trainings and training over 70 yoga instructors in southern Maine.
Trainers at Arcana’s yoga school include Jennie Joan Ferrare, Amanda Clark, Katie Beanne, Kristine Keegan, Jennifer Gelfand, Vincent Grant, Robin Ivy, Avril Williams and more.
Our current offerings are blended between in person meetups in small groups indoors at 81 Market street in the Old Port, the heart of Portland, Maine, outdoors at Lincoln Park and on zoom.
Arcana’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training curriculum is a deep journey into the roots of yoga, true self, and community. We study ancient yoga philosophy, Indian history, the energetic body including the chakras and nadis, foundational Ayurveda, meditation, Sanskrit, relaxation techniques, dynamic anatomy, ethics, and yoga’s relationship with social justice. We’ve recently expanded our segments on anatomy and social justice, decolonization and history to be even more thorough.
We also offer advanced 300 hour yoga teacher trainings that include Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga certifications, advanced Anatomy, Tantric philosophy and more.

Meet Our Yoga School Director and Lead Trainer
Your lead trainer, Jennie Joan (E-RYT 500 hr Yoga Teacher, BA Psychology & Holistic Health, Certified Herbalist ), has over 2,500 hours of training and teaching experience in multiple traditions including Vinyasa, Yin, Kripalu, Recovery Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda, Yoga for Body Image, Barre, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, postnatal yoga, herbalism and Reiki. She is the owner of Arcana, yoga school director and a Sea Change Yoga teacher. She practiced yoga for the very first time at the age of 12 and has watched it shape her entire life since. Jennie’s goal is to embody what she teaches, accrediting yoga to helping her grow through obstacles like PTSD, substance use disorder, and an eating disorder. She believes yoga has the power to transform our lives rapidly and radically and to teach us not just to live, but to live well. Jennie has proudly trained over 50 yoga instructors in Southern Maine and is humbled by the work they do and the love they bring to the yoga community.
To assure you thrive, participants will receive unlimited yoga and meditation classes , a discounted Reiki session at Arcana for the duration of our training, and ongoing counsel and support. Our community classes give real-time teaching experience before graduation. Tuition is also designed with accessibility in mind, ranging from $2,795-2,995 with partial scholarships and monthly payment plans available..
